What is MonolaurX?
MonolaurX is a fast-absorbing, no-rinse cosmetic cleansing serum with coconut-derived monolaurin, sold in a 5 g (0.18 oz) tube or pouch, fragrance-free and made in the USA. It is a cosmetic cleansing product for everyday lip care — not a medication or cold sore treatment.
What does a “cleansing serum” do?
A cleansing serum is a lightweight topical cosmetic that helps cleanse the intended external area as part of a lip-care routine. MonolaurX is a cosmetic, not an over-the-counter drug, and its fast-absorbing, no-rinse formula works as a quick step rather than a wash or mask.
Does MonolaurX treat or cure cold sores?
MonolaurX is a cosmetic cleansing serum, not a cold sore treatment. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent cold sores, herpes, or any disease.
What is monolaurin?
Monolaurin, also called glycerol monolaurate, is a compound made from lauric acid (often from coconut) and glycerol. It has also been identified in human milk.
What are the full ingredients?

How do I apply MonolaurX?
Wash and dry your hands, shake well, and apply a small amount around the area. Wait 5 to 10 minutes for it to absorb, then gently massage in whatever is left — no rinsing needed. Use it often throughout the day, and always follow the directions on your label.
When should I use MonolaurX?
Use it as a cleansing step when the area needs care, or as part of your regular lip-care routine, following your label for how much and how often. If you are not sure how it fits your day, start with a little and adjust to how your skin feels.
Can I use MonolaurX with Abreva or other products?
MonolaurX is a cosmetic and Abreva is an over-the-counter drug, so follow each product’s own label and ask a pharmacist or doctor before combining or layering them. When in doubt, keeping the two on separate schedules is the safe choice.
Can I wear it under lip balm or makeup?
If your label allows layering, use a clean applicator and let MonolaurX fully soak in before applying anything else. Not every balm or cosmetic works well with it, so add new products one at a time and watch how your skin reacts.
How long does a 5 g tube last?
It depends on how much you use and how often, so it lasts a different length of time for each person. Check your label for the amount and frequency to use.

Can MonolaurX cause side effects?

Are cold sores herpes?
Yes. Cold sores are a form of oral herpes, most commonly linked to HSV-1. HSV-1 is very common — the World Health Organization estimates that about 64% of people under 50 worldwide carry it.
